Programs & Eligibility
The Summer Work & Travel program provides foreign students with an opportunity to live and work in the United States during their summer vacation from college or university to experience and to be exposed to the people and way of life in the United States.
Who Can Apply: Post-secondary students enrolled full-time and pursuing studies at post-secondary accredited academic institutions located outside the United States who come to the United States to work and travel during their summer vacation.
Program Length: Up to 4 months (dependent on length of university vacation).
The Intern & Trainee program provides the opportunity for individuals to improve their English and boost their career with a paid internship in the U.S.
Who Can Apply: Students, recent graduates, or young professionals with educational experience and/or work experience outside the U.S. in the chosen occupational field.
Program Length: Up to 12 months for Interns and 18 months for Trainees, with the exception of training programs in hospitality/tourism, which are limited to 12 months.
Allows U.S. Employers to bring foreign nationals to the U.S to fill temporary/seasonal non-agricultural and unskilled jobs.
Who Can Apply: Students and non-students, minimum 18 years old with at least an intermediate level of English.
Program Length: Up to 10 months (subject to approval). The maximum period of stay is 3 years (not continuously with same employer).
The Teach USA Program allows foreign teachers the opportunity to teach in accredited primary and secondary schools in the United States. Participants learn American teaching methods, while also bringing an international perspective to U.S. classrooms.
Who Can Apply: Must have a degree that meets the minimum requirements of a U.S. Bachelor’s degree and meets the standards of the U.S. state where participant will be teaching. Teachers must also have a minimum of three years teaching experience with students between the ages of 5-18.
Program Length: Up to 3 years.
