Maryland Cultural Information

WELCOME TO

Maryland

Maryland’s geographic location means that its culture is a mix of northern and southern American.

Although one of the smallest states in the U.S., it features a variety of climates and topographical features that have earned it the moniker of America in Miniature.

Maryland Motto

“Fatti Maschii Parole Femine”, the Maryland motto means “strong deeds, gentle words”, has not specifically been adopted as a state motto. Rather, it has been accepted as a state motto because it was adopted as an element of the Maryland State Seal by the Convention of 1776.
