J-2 DEPENDENT INSURANCE COVERAGE

It is a requirement that all J2 dependents are covered by medical insurance for the entire duration of their stay in the United States.

The insurance cannot be prorated and must be purchased up front:

·         Newborn to age 50:  $90/month
·         50+ years of age: $120/month

J-2 dependents may also be subject to the requirements of the Affordable Care Act.
